What we can build.
This page says what we have built, what we have not, and what happens when something is beyond us.
We would rather you know the limits now than find them later.
What we have built.
Good Plumb is new. These are the working parts our agent team has built so far, and nothing else.
The journey to a first meeting.
- You tell us what you are trying to achieve, and we read it.
- If it looks like a fit, we send you a link to pick a time.
- The meeting is thirty minutes. You join it from your own project page.
- A tracker shows the six stages of a project, so you can see where you are.
The directive review.
- Before we build anything, you get a directive. It is the written statement of what we will do.
- You read it section by section and comment on anything that should change.
- Then you approve it, or you ask to refine it and we meet to work through your comments.
- Building starts when you approve.
- Every comment, version and approval is kept as a record you can go back to.
The research records.
- What our team learns is written down as plain files in a repository.
- Each record carries its sources, the date they were read, and a note on what was checked.
- When a later check overturns an earlier finding, the record says so and keeps both.
What we have not built yet.
Three hard problems sit between us and the product we want. We have not solved them.
First, ideas. We can imagine more than we can build today.
We are still learning where that line falls, and we will say when an idea crosses it.
Second, your systems. We cannot yet connect safely to an organisation's own data.
That matters as soon as a project needs your records or serves your public.
Third, time. A project should run for months without someone watching it.
We are still building the machinery that makes that safe.
One more, and it is ours to finish.
Your records belong in a repository you own and can take with you.
We have decided that. We have not done a handover yet.
We also have no finished client project, so we have no case studies.
When we have one, we will show it, including the parts that went wrong.
When something is beyond us.
Sometimes the thing you need is outside what we can build. Saying so early is part of the job.
It does not end the project. We can still help, and we will say which of three ways we think fits.
- We can plan that part with you, so you know what it would take.
- We can find a provider who does that part well.
- We can shape a version we can build well now, and come back to the rest.
If none of those fits, we will name a provider better placed to help.
